Project management - leadership and team

Are you still working in a group or are you part of a team? Projects are social systems. Understanding and shaping this system is crucial for the project’s success. Role clarification is a key success factor for project teams. In successful teams all participants have a high level of social competence in terms of communication, giving feedback, shaping (virtual and intercultural) cooperation, motivation or conflict management. The positive leadership model for projects offers a tool to help develop a team into a high-performance team.

  • Experience as a specialist or leader in a project
  • A completed training in for example "Project Management Methodology and Instruments" at BWI or an equivalent previous training
  • A case study from your own practice, which can be worked on in the seminar
  • Openness to discuss even challenging situations
  • Willingness to actively participate and discuss situations on both the factual and personal level

  • Give constructive feedback
  • Identify the strengths and weaknesses of your project organization using the Belbin® Team Role Model and you will receive structured feedback personally
  • Recognize resistance and conflicts and be able to deal with them effectively
  • Develop your team into a high-performance team using the Positive Leadership for projects model

  • The seminar conveys the content using short presentations on the theory and practical examples to show it in practice

Qualification IPMA Certification

According to IPMA® guidelines, the internationally recognised certifications in project management demonstrate mastery of the three areas of competence - practices, contexts and people. Attending the two seminars "Methodology and Instruments" and "Leadership and Team" provides an ideal basis for successful IPMA Competence Baseline (ICB4) certification. The textbook "Handbook Projectmanagement – agile, classical and hybrid", used in the training, covers all relevant topics for IPMA certification. The selection and combination of the topics in the seminar are based on IPMA® requirements.
